National Training for Counselors and Mentors

Resources for Counseling Families on Preparing Financially for College

As the National Training for Counselors and Mentors (NT4CM) 2007 Pilot Program (for academic year 2008–09) comes to a close, preparations for launching the 2009–10 academic year initiative are well underway. To review the results of the 2007 Pilot Program, click here.

This year, NT4CM plans to expand its reach by increasing the number of training sessions and participating states to advance its mission: to provide free training, information, resources, and tools regarding federal, state, and local financial aid programs for counselors and mentors working with students and their families.

NT4CM is sponsored by Federal Student Aid (an office within the U.S. Department of Education), the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA), and the National Council of Higher Education Loan Programs (NCHELP).
